Book 1 of Wildwood
Brilliantly fun and sexy read
Another fantastically funny read by Lola Glass; with drama, brilliant characters with steamy chemistry, building friendship; heaps of humor and spice💖. This was set in the same world as the "Deceit & Devotion" series, with Lovene and Tori both working at the Coffee & Toffee run by Miley Villin ("How to Fall in Like with a Monster") and Madd knows Zander. Great for a cozy read & I would strongly recommend. I couldn't put this down can't wait for Tori and Sienna's stories.

Lovene is waiting for her friend and roommate Tori at a bar when she has a large man sit next to her. She's a blood wolf (illegally made vampire / werewolf hybrid) who escaped the vampires who made her with Tori, and recognises he is a werewolf. They hit it off straight away until she bits him and he takes her straight to jail, vampires aren't allowed in Wildwood. When Archer Madden's wolf first sees Lovene he's insistent that they've found their mate, and once Archer is happy she's not a threat ("more in-danger than dangerous), the wolf and man agree that "she belongs to us" and they just need to persuade her to see that they're better together, they just need time. But Love is wary after being used by the vampires, and that they are still after her and Tori, so doesn't want to accept the bond, hoping to just avoid the werewolf who's growing very possessive. Though she soon realises that he's not the only possessive one. Her wolf is very keen on the bond and not leaving his side so she agrees to move in with him, but when he realises she's trying to avoid him and starving herself in the process, he takes firm action to make her start talking to him properly. |
